In Australia, if you're modifying a vehicle's suspension, you must comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and state-based regulations, which often require a VASS approval certificate if the modification falls outside the exceptions listed in the National Code of Practice (NCOP) or the Vehicle Standards Bulletin 14 (VSB 14). Minor modifictions like replacing shock absrobers or sway bars are sometimes allowed if they don't exceed height limits or affect ground clearance, but significant changes, like altering ride height by more than 50mm or replacing major components, generally require certification.
